I first met Vân during the Belltown Art Walk in Seattle. Their work immediately caught my attention: coats and jackets crafted from pieces of reclaimed denim, carefully sewn together into striking, one-of-a-kind designs. Beyond their visual impact, I was drawn to the sustainability behind the concept, a value that matters deeply to me.

Vân’s sewing journey began in 2014 when they returned to Vietnam after nineteen years abroad. In their mother’s hometown of Biên Hòa, they apprenticed with a local tailor for seven months, an experience that helped them reconnect with their ancestral roots. Learning quickly while navigating a language barrier shaped the way they approach design today, with adaptability, curiosity, and a spirit of experimentation.
